So I met with a lawyer today. I shared much of the information on this website with the lawyer who in turn advised me that based on the information available, he deemed it very unlikely that I would be able to successfully collect from Mr. Garcia. His advice to me was to file a suit in small claims court and receive a judgment. Once I have a judgment in hand, we can explore what legal avenues exist to reclaim the defrauded money.
With that said, in preparations for filing a suit, I was investigating if he had a legal assumed name with Dallas county so I knew whether to file against him personally or against his business. I discovered two additional civil judgments with liens against his personal property. I have attached both of those records below as well.
